Some 2015 \u2013 2016 model year RC F and 2016 GS F vehicles may exhibit an abnormal buzzing noise condition from the low pressure fuel pump. The Engine Control Module (ECM) logic has been modified to reduce the possibility of this condition. Note:This repair is covered under the Lexus Federal Emission Warranty. This warrantyis in effect for 96 months or 80,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle\u2019sin-service date.<\/p>\n

Note:The ECM (PCM) should NOT be replaced as part of the Repair Procedure.<\/p>\n

Repair Procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.Confirm the condition.If the noise is NOT originating from the low pressure fuel pump, disregard this Service Bulletin and continue diagnosis per the Repair Manual.<\/p>\n

2.Using Techstream, confirm calibration ID. If the calibration ID listed IS the latest ECM (PCM) calibration, disregard this Service Bulletin and continue diagnosis per the Repair Manual.<\/p>\n

3.Check for the Authorized Modifications Label affixed to the vehicle in the location shown below. Confirm if the ECM (PCM) calibration has been updated. If the calibration ID listed is NOT the latest ECM (PCM) calibration \u2013 go to step 4. If the calibration ID listed IS the latest ECM (PCM) calibration, disregard this Service Bulletin and continue diagnosis per the Repair Manual.<\/p>\n

4.Flash reprogram the ECM (PCM).<\/p>\n

NOTE:DTCs may set during software update. If DTCs set, please clear the codes at the completion of the update. If DTCs remain after clearing, please perform a 12V battery reset on the vehicle.<\/p>\n

5.Install the Authorized Modifications Label.<\/p>\n

A.Using a permanent marker, enter the following information on the label:<\/p>\n

ECM part number [Refer to the Parts Information section for the NEW PART NUMBER]
\nCalibration ID(s) [Refer to the Calibration Information section for the NEW CALIBRATION ID]
\nDealer Code
\nRepair Date
\nChange Authority [This bulletin number]<\/p>\n

B.Affix the Authorized Modifications Label to the vehicle at the location shown.<\/p>\n
