When they try to update, it shows that ISTA is beginning the update process, but it disappears after a few seconds and there is still \u201cFirmware\u201d information on ISTA. Of course, there is a second way to update it\u2014via a web interface. In the same way that A2 ICOMs can be updated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Video:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"How to Update BMW ICOM Firmware\" width=\"810\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3o9aG07gO1w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>ICOM Firmware Update Steps<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.Download and install the most recent version of ICOM NEXT A software<\/p>\n<p>2.Proceed to the location where the software was extracted:<br \/>\na. Click the Start button in the upper left corner.<br \/>\nType \u201cProgramData\u201d<br \/>\nb. BMW -&gt; ISPI -&gt; data -&gt; TRIC -&gt; ICOMNext -&gt; ICOM-Next 04-22-20<br \/>\nc. There should be four files there (2x .xml and 2x tar.gz). For the time being, keep this location open.<\/p>\n<p>3.Open Itoolradar or any other software that displays your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.obd2tool.com\/goods-5149-ICOM+NEXT+ABC+Fow+BMW+2016+New+Generation+OF+ICOM+A2.html\">ICOM Next<\/a> A IP address and copy it.<\/p>\n<p>4.Launch your web browser and navigate to the following website: http:\/\/XXX.XXX.XX.XX:60080\/ replace XXX.XXX.XX.XX with your ICOM\u2019s IP address.<\/p>\n<p>5. Enter the following login and password: login: NZY1150263 is the root passcode.<\/p>\n<p>6.Select the \u201cFirmware Update\u201d option. In my case, it\u2019s \u201cICOM Next-rootfs-012210.tar.gz,\u201d and then click OK. See screenshot 10 below.<\/p>\n<p>10.Click the \u201csend file\u201d button to the right of the file selection.<\/p>\n<p>11.The next screen should ask you again if you want to update the firmware; check for errors and select YES. The LEDs on the ICOM Next A should all be RED, which is normal.<\/p>\n<p>12.Wait a few seconds until it says \u201cupdate completed,\u201d and DO NOT REBOOT ICOM YET!!! On the website, select the Update firmware option.<\/p>\n<p>13.Return to the firmware update website, select the APPLICATION option, and then select \u201cchoose file\u201d once more.
