{"id":2018,"date":"2018-02-02T06:12:31","date_gmt":"2018-02-02T06:12:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.obd2tool.com\/blog\/?p=2018"},"modified":"2020-04-20T03:27:11","modified_gmt":"2020-04-20T03:27:11","slug":"how-to-solve-cummins-insite-8-2-connection-error-5204-5202-5201-5200","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.obd2tool.com\/blog\/how-to-solve-cummins-insite-8-2-connection-error-5204-5202-5201-5200\/","title":{"rendered":"How to solve Cummins INSITE 8.2\u00a0Connection Error 5204 5202 5201 5200"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With DPA5 adapter,I\u00a0try to connect with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.obd2tool.com\/goods-6992-Cummins+INSITE+820184+Software+Pro+Version+with+500+times+Limitation+Support+ECU+Flash+and+Windows+10.html\">Cummins insite<\/a>\u00a0and i have error code 5204 or only no connection and not blinking the leds<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is the error 5204 popped up when connect Prostar 2005 with\u00a0cummins\u00a0engine:<\/p>\n<p>ECM connection<\/p>\n<p>Error number: <strong><b>5204<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Communication between the data\u00a0link adapter and the ECM could not be established.<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Please check the following conditions:<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The key switch is on<\/p>\n<p>The cables are between the data\u00a0link and the ECM are properly connected<\/p>\n<p>The cables are in good condition<\/p>\n<p>The correct adapter type is selected<\/p>\n<p>The correct communication protocol is selected<\/p>\n<p>Select retry, cancel or help for additional troubleshooting steps<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.obd2tool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/\u56fe\u72471.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2017 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.obd2tool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/\u56fe\u72471.png\" alt=\"\u56fe\u72471\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.obd2tool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/\u56fe\u72471.png 650w, https:\/\/www.obd2tool.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/\u56fe\u72471-300x168.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Here is what have been tried but failed!<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Try to connect whit J1939\u2026..same issue<\/p>\n<p>On truck does not even get the engine and the others only couple line and very slow, might be some thing with them trucks<\/p>\n<p>Some things odd2006 models connect through J1939 and works.<br \/>\nTried on 3 trucks already that are 2005 and older the connect thought J1708 it says engine 128<br \/>\nAnd when doing the J 1939 test on them it says something like data error<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Check the driver is installed well<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><b>J1939 &amp;
