First you should know which BMW TOOLS you need: K+DCAN<\/a> or ENET<\/a> or ICOM A2<\/a>\/ ICOM Next<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In summary,<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

It depends on your purpose (diagnostic or coding or programming) and model (Exx or Fxx or others).<\/p>\n

For Coding,<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0you need different Tools, NCS Expert \/ SP-Daten for E-Series and E-Sys \/ PSdZData for F-Series.<\/p>\n

All Diagnosis and Coding can be done with cheap DCAN<\/a> Cable for E-Series and cheap ENET<\/a> Cable for F-Series.<\/p>\n

For Programming <\/b><\/strong>(Flashing ECU\u2019s with new Firmware), then you need ISTA\/P for for both E-Series and F-Series cars, or you can use WinKFP for E-Series and E-Sys for F-Series. For E-Series Programming, you will need an ICOM, but for F-Series Programming, you can use ENET Cable.<\/p>\n

For Exx- Series:<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

Interface = K+DCAN Cable<\/a> (OBDII to USB) or ICOM<\/a><\/p>\n

ECU Data Files = SP-Daten<\/p>\n

NCS Expert = Coding Software<\/p>\n

EDIABAS = Low-Level ECU Communication Software used by NCS Expert & WinKFP<\/p>\n

For Fxx- \/ Ixx- \/ Gxx-Series, Mini, & Rolls-Royce\uff1a<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

Interface = ENET Cable (OBDII to RJ45 Ethernet) or ICOM<\/p>\n

ECU Data Files = PSdZData<\/p>\n

E-Sys = Coding Software<\/p>\n
