1. Porsche PIWIS 4 (Version 43.600.010 – Latest)

  • Open Engineer Mode (V/E)
  • Unlimited license
  • Supports additional updates

2. Porsche PIWIS 3 Engineering (Version 38.250 – Full Engineering)

  • Full V/E/P operating modes
  • Includes full Taycan support
  • Unlimited license

Key Difference: Development Mode vs. Engineering Mode

Engineering Mode (Full Engineering Version)

Engineering Mode offers complete freedom for manual coding without predefined rules. It gives full access for deep-level configuration and advanced modifications.

What Engineering Mode allows you to do:

  • Perform unrestricted manual coding
  • Modify hidden or advanced vehicle parameters
    • Increase MFD boost pressure
    • Enable sport sensors
    • Activate G-force display
  • Conduct standard auto/manual coding for retrofits
    • PDLS+
    • Converting Xenon to LED
  • Full access to V/E/P modes (After-sales / Engineering / Production)
  • No limitations on coding privileges

This is the most powerful and complete PIWIS mode.

Development Mode (Partial Development Version)

Development Mode includes most diagnostic and development functions, but does NOT offer full manual coding without rules.

Limitations of Development Mode:

  • Manual coding without rules is not available
  • Cannot perform small manual changes like boost pressure or sensor activation

What Development Mode can still do:

  • Auto/manual coding following factory rule sets
  • Enable features such as:
    • PDLS+
    • Lane-keeping assistance
    • Speed sign recognition
    • Cruise control
  • Full diagnostics, programming, and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Same functions as standard PIWIS except unrestricted engineering coding

Shared Features (Both Development & Engineering Versions)

Both versions fully support:

  • Vehicle diagnostics
  • Fault code reading/erasing
  • Maintenance service functions
  • VAL and test plans
  • Module programming & updates
  • Troubleshooting guides
  • Complete system scan & live data
  • Coverage for all supported models, including EVs

The only functional differences:

  • Engineering Mode has unlimited manual coding and V/E/P modes
  • Development Mode lacks manual coding without rules and does not include Mode V or P
