Working on a 2014–2020 Toyota Aygo, Citroën C1, or Peugeot 107/108 with All Keys Lost (AKL)?
These three city cars share the same platform and immobilizer architecture. In an AKL situation, programming a new key is more complex than normal OBD learning — and in most cases requires dashboard removal to access the immobilizer box.
This guide explains two professional methods to complete the job successfully.
🚗 Vehicle Coverage

Supported models (2014–2020):
- Toyota Aygo
- Citroën C1
- Peugeot 107
- Peugeot 108
These vehicles were developed under a joint venture and use similar immobilizer systems.
🔐 Immobilizer Location
In an All Keys Lost situation:
- The immobilizer box and door locking module are located behind the instrument cluster / dashboard
- On RHD models, access requires removing the upper dashboard panel
- The plastic cover behind the cluster hides the immobilizer unit
⚠️ Important:
You must remove the top section of the dashboard to access the immobilizer and retrieve EEPROM data.

Method 1 – Immobilizer Read + Autel Simulation (Faster Method)
This method avoids full immo box disassembly and saves time.
🔧 Steps:
- Cut key blade (Keyway: TOY48)
- Use Lishi pick tool
- Or decode wafers after removing lock
- Remove dashboard and access immobilizer
- Read immobilizer data using:
- Autel G-Box
- Compatible Autel IMMO tool
- Simulate master key
- Learn new key using Autel KM100
This approach reduces labor compared to EEPROM desoldering.

Method 2 – EEPROM Read with VVDI Prog + Tango (Advanced Method)
This is the traditional and most reliable AKL method.

🔧 Steps:
- Remove immobilizer box completely
- Read EEPROM using VVDI Prog
- Load EEPROM dump into Tango key programmer
- Generate key data
- Write key to chip
🧠 Important Chip Information (Very Critical)
Many technicians fail here.
For Aygo / C1 / 107 / 108:
❌ Xhorse Super Chip XT27A does NOT work directly
❌ VVDI2 4D70 generation does NOT work
❌ XT27 generating as 4D70 will fail
✅ Only Original 4D70 chip works correctly with Tango
Recommended Workflow:
- Use an original 4D70 chip
- Generate key in Tango
- Program key
- Optional:
- Use junkyard original Aygo key
- Program with Tango
- Clone to XT27 for future use
This ensures stability and avoids repeat jobs.
⚙️ Tools Required
- Autel IM608 / KM100 + G-Box
- VVDI Prog
- Tango
- TOY48 key blade
- Original 4D70 chip
💡 Which Method Should You Choose?
| Method | Skill Level | Speed | Risk | Recommended For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Autel Simulation | Intermediate | Faster | Medium | Mobile locksmith |
| VVDI + Tango | Advanced | Slower | Low | Workshop technicians |
If you frequently work on PSA / Toyota joint-platform vehicles, EEPROM method is more reliable long-term.
