The older JLR DoIP VCI (released in 2019) has poor USB connectivity when connected to a PC, whether using a standard USB cable or a Type-C converter.
Connection errors frequently occur when attempting to link the device to a laptop via USB.
Using a WLAN cable or USB converter doesn’t improve the situation either — the connection remains unstable.
In contrast, the newer JLR DoIP VCI (released in 2020) replaces the USB cable with a LAN cable for laptop connection.
This LAN connection is both stable and fast, providing a more reliable user experience.
